Westchester County is now accepting applications for its Summer Volunteer Fellowship Program. The Program offers college and high school students with a behind-the-scenes look at how County Government functions, while providing them with the opportunity to gain professional experience, build leadership skills, and work closely with full-time government employees.
Accepted summer fellows will research and prepare policy proposals, and in-depth analysis for a variety of topics to directly inform the County Executive’s Senior Team. Fellows will also be responsible for scheduling, organizing and facilitating a series of public-facing informational events, as well as studying legislation from comparable municipalities.
Scheduling is flexible, and remote work is allowed. Fellows are expected to work a minimum of three days a week between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. High school seniors looking for a senior alternative between May and June are also encouraged to apply.
For any questions regarding the program, please contact Copernicus Crane, Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Relations, at ccrane@westchestercountyny.gov.
